Und noch einer: Big Batteries in Victoria

Tesla will build a 25MW/50MWh battery to be co-located near the 60MW Gannawarra solar farm near Kerang, while Fluence will build a 30MW/30 MWh grid-connected battery at the Ballarat terminal station.
Construction on both projects is due to commence this month, with both batteries to be commissioned in time for the summer peak in 2018/19.

Auf der Suche dazu kam ich auf den electrek-Artikel dazu
und fand folgendes interessant:
Tesla doesn’t use the same cells for the Model 3 as the ones in the Powerwall and Powerpack,
but it still adds to the total output of the factory.

"Clarification: to be clear, they now all use the 2170 cell form factor, but not the same chemistry and while all battery packs are made at Gigafactory 1, not all the cells for the stationary energy storage products are made there."

aus dem shareholder letter Q1 / 2018

In Q1, energy storage deployments grew 161% from Q4 2017 to 373 MWh, which includes the 129 MWh South Australia project that was installed last year with final commercial transfer occurring in Q1.
[.......]
In addition, we deployed a record number of residential Powerwall systems in Q1. In spite of the significant growth of Powerwall deliveries, our backlog in Q1 continued to grow.

OUTLOOK:
With increasing capacity for Powerwall and Powerpack products at Gigafactory 1, energy generation and storage revenues should
continue to grow significantly throughout the year. Energy storage gross margins should therefore become positive in the second half of 2018.

Tesla, it’s been said, is less a car company than a battery company that sells cars. Today, the company is announcing a new milestone: Since 2015, it has installed a worldwide total of a gigawatt-hour of energy storage–technology that is critical for using renewable energy at scale. For comparison, that’s nearly half of the entire amount of energy storage installed globally last year. As the company’s electric car business quickly grows, the energy side of its business is growing even faster.

The growth is only a fraction of what’s needed to transform energy. In 2015, when Elon Musk talked about the company’s new energy division, he estimated that it would take 2 billion Powerpacks to fulfill the world’s energy needs. “Even at 300%, we’ll need to grow it this way for decades, frankly, to really solve the problem,” says Straubel. “And not just us, but other companies need to get involved, too.”
DAS ist es, was Tesla auch mit ausmacht. Nicht ego-alleine, sondern auch andere mit ins Boot nehmen, anspornen mitzumachen.
