Hardtop

Hallo!

Wow - da kommt man tatsächlich ins Grübeln :bulb:

Passt also wirklich 1:1.
Dort gibts verschiedene Angebote. Eins sogar mit Glasdach… Sieht toll aus…

Hello from UK

Please excuse the use of English, but my German is worst than my Italian, and I can’t speak Italian either ! Google-Translate is very useful …

I am very interested in buying an Elise S2 hardtop because I prefer the look when compared to the Tesla CF hardtop, and I would like to ask some questions about your experience of fitting one.

  • Did the Elise roof fit your Tesla without needing to modify anything on the roof, or the car ?
  • Does it squeak, creek or rattle ?
  • Does it have any sound proofing, or a head lining ?
  • Is it quieter than the normal Tesla soft-top at 120kmh or thereabouts ?

Any advice would be appreciated.

(Moderators - There seems to be some formatting problems with the quoted part, and my own text ??)

hi,
i slightly amended you quote, but dont know why this happened. maybe Tapatalk or something?

however, i guess Steph need to answer you questions but the Tesla Roadster roof fitting system is exaclty the as Lotus Elise, Opel Speedster etc… so no modifications on the car needed.
cheers
mischa

Thanks for quick reply. Seems like I’ll be buying an Elise hard top sometime soon !

I hope Steph65 can provide some opinion on the questions of noise levels, and head lining etc.

As for formatting problems … I have discovered that the text layout shown in the thread is different to what I am seeing when I ‚preview‘ my answer before submitting BUT if I go into my user-control-panel and adjust the language option back and forth between German and English, then the final displayed format changes dramatically. I have no idea why this would happen …

Hello Arch,

the Elise Hardtop was discussed over in the Tesla Motors Club forum, too.
check it out teslamotorsclub.com/showthre … r-hardtops

Thanks for link - just spent a good 20 mins absorbing all the info !

I would still like to know how it ‚sounds‘ compared to the normal soft top. I really want the cockpit to be a bit quieter at speed, which will hopefully allow phone calls to not get drowned out with wind noise.

It would be nice to listen to the radio, but the FM reception is so bad its almost pointless :frowning: I need to investigate a better aerial solution (unless someones done this too …?)

Hallo,

@Arch: All hard tops ar reported to reduce air noise in comparison to the soft top.

Hallo Markus,

das Lotus-Dach?

Darf ich fragen, was es kostet?

Viele Grüße

Bernd

Also abwarten… werde berichten!

Hi luettel
Könntest es mal mit Silikonspray versuchen. Das hilft meist bei quitschenden Dichtungen.

Danke werde das gleich morgen mal testen.
